- Check everyone in your cab, and the other vehicle, is OK. Call 999 if anyone's hurt.
- Move to safety if you can, hazards on, hi-vis on.
- Don't admit liability at the scene, even if you think you're at fault. Insurers decide that, not you.
- Get the other driver's name, phone, reg, make/model and insurer. Note any witnesses' details too.
- Photos of everything: both cars, the damage, the road, the plates, dashcam clip if you have one.

The bits cabbies always ask first
Who actually pays for the replacement cab?
The at-fault driver's insurer. It's a non-fault claim, so by law you're entitled to a like-for-like replacement while yours is being repaired or written off. You pay nothing upfront, there's no excess, and it doesn't touch your own no-claims.
Do I have to use the repairer my insurer tells me to?
No. In a non-fault accident you're legally entitled to choose your own solicitor, repair centre and replacement vehicle. Insurers will push their own networks because it's cheaper for them, but it's your choice, not theirs.
What about my plate, meter and data head?
We transfer them across to your replacement, get the new vehicle retested where the local authority requires it, and sort the paperwork directly with Blackpool, Wyre or Fylde licensing, whichever you're under. You stay road-legal throughout.
How quickly can I get a replacement?
Often the same day, depending on time of call and what you drive. Hybrid saloons are usually fastest; specialist LTI black cabs sometimes take a little longer but rarely more than 24 hours.
What areas do you cover?
The Fylde Coast: Blackpool, Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lytham St Annes, Kirkham and the towns between them. We deal with Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde licensing. If you're not sure whether you're inside it, ring and ask.
